Alamán Design is operated by María Luz Alamán, based in Malmö, Sweden. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), María Luz Alamán is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the website, we may collect:

  • information you provide through an enquiry form, including your name, email address, company or venue, location, preferred date, guest number, budget and project details;
  • your email address and consent record when you join the Alamán early-access list;
  • order, delivery and transaction information when you purchase an Alamán Object or workshop place;
  • information needed to administer workshop bookings or respond to event questions;
  • limited technical and cookie information, depending on your cookie choices.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information through our forms.

How we use your information

We use personal data to:

  • respond to enquiries and prepare proposals or quotations;
  • organise and deliver workshops, private experiences, collaborations and orders;
  • send Alamán updates when you have explicitly consented;
  • maintain the security and functionality of the website;
  • meet applicable accounting, tax and other legal obligations.

The legal basis depends on the purpose. It may be your consent, steps requested before entering into a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and operating Alamán responsibly.

Newsletter and marketing

We only send marketing or early-access emails when you have actively opted in. Consent is optional and is not required to submit a general enquiry.

You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting hello@alamandesign.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.

Service providers and sharing

We share personal data only when necessary to run Alamán or provide a service. Providers may include:

  • Squarespace, for website hosting, forms, contacts, commerce and email-list storage;
  • Stripe, for secure payment processing and related fraud prevention;
  • fulfilment and delivery providers when you order an Alamán Object;
  • professional advisers or public authorities where required by law.

External services process information under their own terms and privacy notices. We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Some service providers may process data outside the EU/EEA. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards provided by the relevant service provider and applicable data-protection law, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards.

How long we keep information

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose collected:

  • enquiry information is normally kept for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact, unless it becomes part of an active project or must be kept for a legal claim;
  • newsletter information is kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent;
  • order and transaction records are kept for the period required by applicable accounting and tax law;
  • cookie information follows the periods shown in the site’s cookie settings.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions in GDPR, you may have the right to:

  • access your personal data;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • request deletion or restriction;
  • object to certain processing;
  • receive data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time.
